About Us

Who we are

Established in 2002 Osterna is a B2B supplier committed to helping clients manage their responsibilities and risks around Fire and Health & Safety. Being part of the Places for People Group, one of the largest property management, development, regeneration and leisure companies in the Country, we are well rehearsed, experienced and qualified in Fire and Health & Safety Risk Management. Osterna is a modern business for tomorrow’s world adapting products and services to reflect client needs and the ever changing compliance landscape.

What do we do?

We provide Quality Compliant Fire Risk Assessments and Health & Safety Surveys on residential and commercial properties throughout the UK. Independently assessing risk in a balanced and considered way, our reports provide clear and reassuring ‘no nonsense’ advice with identifiable actions so that clients can understand and comply with the requirements of UK legislation, UK Government guidelines while also following their ‘duty of care’ obligations.

Our approach is based on the ethos of ‘Right First Time’ – a principle that can save our clients time and money with the added reassurance that their customers are safe and their properties are fully compliant with ever changing legislation. We believe that when it comes to safety, standards should not be compromised and ‘Corners Should Not Be Cut’.  Testament to this is that we are 3rd party accredited by UKAS and NSI under the BAFE SP205 life safety fire risk assessment scheme.

Who do we work for?

The Responsible Person i.e, whoever has control of the premises. This could be the owner, freeholder, landlord, Management Company Director or the managing agent.  The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (RRFSO) 2005 requires the duty holder to ensure there is an up to date fire risk assessment on the internal common areas of buildings such as blocks of flats, Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMO’s) and Commercial Premises.
